Filipa and Guilherme celebrated their wedding on April 15th 2017, at Quinta do Coração, in Vila Franca de Xira (Portugal).
We are friends for a long time so I was involved early on in the ceremony's preparations and I was responsible and given total creative freedom for the invitations and other graphic elements.
From the very start I wanted to create an identity connecting all the elements, so I decided to create a logo. I also decided to highlight some basic elements: their names, the type of celebration ("wedding" translates to "casamento") and the date. I chose to include references such as: • hearts: in addition to its direct meaning - love - also relate to the name of the wedding site ("Quinta do Coração" which means "Villa of the Heart"); • the round shape the hearts are displayed in, alluding to the earth globe / world and consequently to the theme of the party (traveling): • the wedding rings: different sizes, identifying bride and groom, in a position that refers to the infinity symbol;
In order to connect all the elements with the couple's choice for the party main theme - traveling - I implemented it in: • the invitation and its written content; • the table indicators were plane tickets, delivered to each guest at check-in; • the name of the tables were places the bride and groom had already visited together; • the menus that accompanied the actual menu served had references to the wedding theme; • the souvenirs offered to the guests, namely the CDs with a message recorded by the newlywed and songs selected by them to be listened in the car on the way back home, with the note "take in your trip a little part of ours".
